What is euCONSENT?

euCONSENT is a European project to develop networks for age verification and parental consent. The euCONSENT project is funded by the European Commission.

The basic idea:

  • Parents should only verify their parent-child relationship once for their Parental Consent, in the case of JusProg Consent, prove that they can realistically be parents or guardians in terms of age. If this proof has been provided by a partner in the euCONSENT network of Parental Consent Providers, then all other partners as well as JusProg Consent can access it and spare the parents having to verify Parental Consent over and over again.
  • If adults have verified their age with one partner in the network (e.g. by ID check or facial recognition), then all other partners in the euCONSENT network can take over this verification. This saves always having to make new age checks on different websites.

The euCONSENT network is extremely data-saving. There is no central database and no broad data exchange. Only via a specially set up euCONSENT token system does a partner (we call it a “node”) learn that the check has already been carried out at another partner and can refer the user there or retrieve the verification. The data is stored in a hashed form.

JusProg is responsible for the area of “Parental Consent” within euCONSENT.

Parental Consent pilot in the framework of euCONSENT

JusProg Consent has been developed and launched as a project within euCONSENT. The first step is to test the system and the interaction of the parental consent providers in the euCONSENT network in a large-scale pilot application and to gather experience.

These dummy websites (without content) are available for testing purposes:

It is also possible to test how a verification already carried out at JusProg Consent can be shared by other Parental Consent Providers in the euCONSENT network. These websites are available for this purpose:

If you are not a participant of the pilot, but have gained experience with JusProg Consent, we would be happy to receive feedback via our Contact form.
